ISDN PRI telco settings for UC500

Our telco (Virgin Media Business, UK) have asked for some information about the PBX (UC540) in order to correctly configure ISDN PRI (E1 - ISDN30) at their end. We have a VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 voice interface card installed in the UC.

Specifically they want to know three things: Signalling Protocol, Outbound CLI, DDI Digit Presentation -- but I'm not sure what these mean and which settings would work with the UC540.

Any assistance appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello,

Supported signaling protocols with an E1 are:

4ESS

5ESS

DMS100

DNPSS

NET5

NI(includes NI-2)

NTT

QSIG

This, Outbound CLI, sounds  like Outbound Caller ID. I'm not sure if this refers to the name or  number. We can control the caller ID number, and they will be  responsbile for the caller ID name.

DDI Digit  Presentation, is how many digits they present to us on a call on the  called number. We can support variable DDI lengths, usually it is best  for management purposes to just have them send the full DDI.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

-john
