I have a customer that wants everyone to dial a code for any calls above Local.  Is this possible? Can anyone point me in right direction?

I think you probably mean "Forced Authorization Codes", right? If so, we support this feature but it requires CLI:

https://www.myciscocommunity.com/docs/DOC-1400#Can_UC500CME_be_configured_to_prompt_a_caller_for_a_PIN_before_placing_a_call

More recently, Veramark incorporated significant enhancements to their Call Accounting product, VeraSMART, that allows the tracking and reporting of these codes in the CDR. With our feature set, the promotion they are running for free software and these recent additions, we can now offer an end to end accounting solution for businesses wanting to implement FAC. The only missing piece is ease of provisioning through CCA, and we will be addressing that in future releases.

You can use voice translation rules, with match and replace patterns. They are a bit tricky to figure out if you haven´t played around with them before. I think you might have to create a dial-peer as well to make it work correctly

You're right, Marcos. I meant Forced Authorization Codes.

Thanks

How can I exclude a fax from being prompted from dialing the FAC?

So far, there is no user/pswd FAC combination that works on the FXS port to allow the Long Distance Calls to work.

Here is an example using COR lists:

https://www.myciscocommunity.com/docs/DOC-1400#Can_UC500CME_be_configured_to_prompt_a_caller_for_a_PIN_before_placing_a_call

It is strange that the configured usernames and passwords are not working for your FXS ports. Are your FXS port SCCP or not? Can you attach the system configuration, less passwords?

Marcos

config attached

Your configuration looks correct. I tried a similar config in my lab and I am able to enter FAC from a phone connected to the FXS port no problem. Are you sure you are dialing a valid username/pwd combination?

If you want to skip FAC altogether, follow the instructions in the link I sent you earlier. It is explained how to do it using COR permissions. It is a little involved, so let us know if you need more help.

Thanks,

Marc and all,

Good Evening.

I am not sure whether my question is repetive but I have a following scenario:-

For the existing system, for Any Long distance and international call the company user gets two stage prompt. First prompt which is visible on the phone as "Account Code" end user dials the access code and then there is a 2nd Prompt which displays again "Account Code" end user dial 1 for Personal call and any other digit (2-9) if it is official. Please note that end user hears a beep too for both the prompt.

I was reading alot for CMC and FAC but I don't see that both can meet the requirement.

Please suggest if anyone has come across this type of requirement and solution provided?

I thank you all in advance for all your response

Regards

M

The only way we can do it today is described on the link I posted above.

Thanks,

Marcos
