Need help configuring UC540 automated attendant messages

Hello, I just started a contract at a client site and I need to understand how the automated attendant works because the main message no longer comes on unless put as alternate and clients cannot press 0 to leave a message. Where can I find info or support on how to configure the automated voicemail system? tia
