One way audio

Hello,

We have a UC320W connected to 4 SPA504G phones and one analog phone on the FXS port. We are using firmware 2.3.2(6).

Problem: If one extension calls another, the caller cannot hear the receiver talking and after 10 secs or so, the line drops. During the call the receiver can hear the caller talking. This happens calling between any extensions, including the analog phone ie if X200 calls X201, then X200 cannot hear the person on X201. If X201 calls X200, then X201 cannot hear the person on X200. This also happens when trying to transfer external calls to an extension.

When making external calls everything works ok, and when taking inbound calls everything works ok. The system was installed last week and has always been like this. Any pointers as to how to narrow down the problem? Thanks

Hi,

Just guessing here but it sounds like there may be an issue with your topology.  Could you post more information about the deployment of your UC including switches and other routers on the network.

Thanks,

Jason Nickle

Jason,

Thanks for the response. I have been working with my IT guy and we have just this minute fixed it (with help from Cisco support engineers). The phones are plugged into a Catalyst 3560 PoE switch which is then connected to the UC320W. The switch needed to have the ports changed to access ports and changed the phones to voice_LAN clients

Cheers

Mick
