The SPA303 is a digital IP phone and it uses IP protocols like SIP or SPCP to setup audio calls.
SPA8800 is an analog telephony adapter with 4 FXS and 4 FXO ports.
SPA303 and SPA8800 are different types of devices. The SPA303 works without needed of use SPA8000.
SPA303 must be registered to an IP PBX like UC320.
The UC320 "incorporates" functions of SPA8800 because it has 4 FXO and 1 FXS ports.
possible scenario:
ITSP ===> sip/ip ===> UC320 ===> sip/ip ===> SPA303
or
PSTN ===> telco FXS coonected to UC320 FXO ===> UC320 ===> sip/ip ===> SPA303
or
PSTN ===> telco FXS coonected to SPA8800 FXO ===> SPA8800 ===> sip/ip ===> UC320 ===> sip/ip ===> SPA303
