Having an issue with a SPA525G registering on a UC540. SPCP Token Issue.  All other phones work with no issue and 540 box working properly.  Multiple factory resets with same result.  Any ideas?

BINGO.

Problem solved.

You have an IOS/CME version which doesnt recognize the phone TYPE

Type as in :

ephone  12
device-security-mode none
mac-address 8843.E155.12A9
max-calls-per-button 2
paging-dn 1
type 525G2

Please upgrade to get support for this phone to the latest SWP (which is now 8.0.5).  Also download and use CCA 2.2.6.

Please mark this answered so we can close on this thread.

Happy to help.

Are you sure you are not trying to register more phones than licenses?

Are you certain auto register is still enabled under Telephony-Service?

I will check on those items again.

Thanks.  I will let you know.

32 Licenses.  Other Phones autoregistering.

License issue is gone but phone will not register.

5 other phones of all different models work no issue.

Just this one SPA525G.  Any ideas?

Would not autodiscover as well.  Had to maually enter in the MAC.

open a telnet window, type 'term mon'

Unplug and plug in that little rascal...

That alone should reveal the ugly beast further.

Add 'debug tftp events', to see if its getting denied when it looks for its CNF file.

past in the result here.

Then 'term no mon' and 'un all' of course.

perhaps factory reset the phone (from the phone menu) as well to clar out any prior badness.

Thanks.   We are close.   I typed from my iphone last time.

I meant to say 'debug ephone register'

But I have an idea anyway to try.

Download the latest SPA525G phone load from CCO.  Extract the .bin from it and put it on your desk top.

You will notice its later than whats in the SWP.  Thats good.  7-4-6 is what you want.

So then drag and drop it onto the UC500 icon in your topology view.

This will do 4 things:

TFTP the file to flash

Create the load statements in telephony-service

Add tftp-server statements in the IOS

Create new CNF files (the system/its *****.xml gets updates

I think this may help.

No Luck.  New firmware confirmed in phone status menu as 7.4.6 but still no connectivity after reboot of entire system.

debug ephone reg?

Is this a SPA525G or a SPA525G2 (physically turn the phone over to read the SKU on the back side)?

What TYPE do you have it defined with in CCA against the ephone?

SPA525G2

I feel so silly for not asking this first ;-)

What SW version are you running on UC500 and CCA?

You do know support for that phone came only recently (8.0.2 SWP with CCA 2.2.5).

Show me ephone display too please.
