UC320 Hunt Group question

Hi all,

We have a customer with a UC320 on 2.1.1(7) with this requirement:

- Incoming call (from a SIP trunk) first rings a specific extension (say 100).

- If not answered in xx seconds, ring all the members of a hunt group (which includes the original extension and 101 and 102)

- If not answered then, go to a specific voicemail box

So, I configured an inbound route to a hunt group (201) with one member with forward on timeout to a second hunt group. The second hunt group (202) has all the required extensions in it and is set to ring them all simultaneously. On timeout, this group diverts to the group mailbox of the first hunt group.

What happens is that a call comes in and rings the primary extension as required. If not answered the call rolls over and all the other phones start ringing EXCEPT the initial extension. At the end of that period, the call does go to the right voicemail box.

So the question is - why does the original extension not ring when it is a member of the second hunt group? IS it simply because the UC considers the original extension as busy when the call rolls over? Is there a workaround (like a forward to a dummy group for a short period)?

Thanks,

Gary

Hi Gary,

One workaround might be to provision an additional extension on the phone with extension 100.  In the hunt group provision the Additional Extension number but not 100 extension.
