UC500 to UC500 SIP Needs Local Area Code

When we dial out of our UC540 to someone else that has a UC540 with a SIP trunk, we need to dial the local area code.  We have regular FXO lines.  We do not have to dial the area code for any other local number.  If you dial the UC540 SIP line from a cell phone, you do not need to dial the area code.

I tried a second UC500 with a basic configuration done with the wizard.  The same behavior occurs.

I can setup a translation table on our end to add the area code but that will not help other people dialing in to them that might have a UC500.

Does anyone have any insight to this problem?

You are going to have to edit your dial plan to solve this problem. You might need to use CLI to get additional dial peers and the correct translation rules configured on your UC500.
