UC520 BRI doesn't answer

Outbound calls from our UC520 work fine via a single BRI interface.  However when I make incoming calls I get number unobtainable.  I have logged a fault with BT and they say the line is fine.  I have a single BRI interface in the ALL_BRI trunk group.

I have tried to configure a direct dial on the DID number to  call the auto attendant or a hunt group.  Neither works.

Does anyone have any tips on where to look next?

I would look at the isdn debug output to see what's being passed by BT as the DNIS. We will need to make sure that we map the correct DNIS to AA/Opertor, etc.

Can you capture the ISDN debugs and also post your current config?

Thanks,

Saurabh

Which ISDN debugging will show what I need:

ar_ucs_sibc_01#debug isdn ?

  all       ISDN debug messages

  api       ISDN Application Program Interface(s)

  cc        ISDN Call Control

  error     ISDN error messages

  events    ISDN events

  mgmnt     ISDN management

  q921      ISDN Q921 frames

  q931      ISDN Q931 packets

  standard  Standard ISDN debugging messages

  tgrm      ISDN TGRM events

ar_ucs_sibc_01#

I have attached the config file.

debug ISDN q931 should show you what you need.

Here is the output I get when I try to dial the number:

ISDN BR0/3/0 Q931: RX <- SETUP pd = 8  callref = 0x01

        Sending Complete

        Bearer Capability i = 0x9090A3

                Standard = CCITT

                Transfer Capability = 3.1kHz Audio

                Transfer Mode = Circuit

                Transfer Rate = 64 kbit/s

        Channel ID i = 0x89

                Exclusive, B1

        Progress Ind i = 0x8581 - Call not end-to-end ISDN, may have in-band info

        Called Party Number i = 0x81, '782628'

                Plan:ISDN, Type:Unknown

ISDN BR0/3/0 Q931: TX -> CALL_PROC pd = 8  callref = 0x81

        Channel ID i = 0x89

                Exclusive, B1

ISDN BR0/3/0 Q931: TX -> DISCONNECT pd = 8  callref = 0x81

        Cause i = 0x8081 - Unallocated/unassigned number

ISDN BR0/3/0 Q931: RX <- RELEASE pd = 8  callref = 0x01

ISDN BR0/3/0 Q931: TX -> RELEASE_COMP pd = 8  callref = 0x81

BT is presenting 6 digits, as it should.  The problem is you are expecting all digits (including STD).  So you need to change the following

1.  Dial Peer 3010 nees to have:

incoming called-number 01932782628

changed to:

incoming called-number 782628

2.  Change your translaion rule:

voice translation-rule 8
rule 1 /01932782628/ /501/

to

voice translation-rule 8
rule 1 /782628/ /501/

That should work

Yes, that worked!  Many thanks for your help.

Want to clarify that all the troubleshooting and configuration for this setup could have been done through CCA :)

Did you use CCA to make the config changes?
