UC520 subinterfaces

Hi,

I have a problem with creating subinterfaces for VLANs.

I created VLANS:

VLAN Name                             Status    Ports
---- -------------------------------- --------- -------------------------------
1    default                          active    Fa0/1/1
2    managment                        active    Fa0/1/0
20   VOICE                            active    Fa0/1/1, Fa0/1/2, Fa0/1/3
                                                Fa0/1/4, Fa0/1/5, Fa0/1/6
                                                Fa0/1/7, Fa0/1/8
40   DATA                             active    Fa0/1/2, Fa0/1/3, Fa0/1/4
                                                Fa0/1/5, Fa0/1/6, Fa0/1/7
                                                Fa0/1/8
1002 fddi-default                     act/unsup
1003 token-ring-default               act/unsup
1004 fddinet-default                  act/unsup
1005 trnet-default                    act/unsup

and now I would like to set subinterfaces for VLAN 20 and 40. I'm trying, but I can't:

voip(config)#interface fa0/1/1.20
                       ^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

Any suggestions as to what is wrong?

Thanks

Kuba

On a 520 you would create VLAN interfaces instead of using subinterfaces.  I would be like configuring inter-vlan routing on a layer 3 switch.

Adam thanks for quick reply!

whether the same situation exists in UC560, UC540?

The UC560 also uses VLAN interfaces.  The UC540 uses virtual BVI ports for inter-operation with the built in wireless access point.  The BVI interfaces are configured the same as VLAN interfaces, though.

VLANs and VLAN routing is fully configurable in CCA for all three devices.
