UC540 with FXO Factory reset!

   Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and recently I encured a problem aobut a Cisco UC540 with FXO. The problem sounds like this: Recently I purchased this UC540 and when I tried to  'create new customer site', after completing all cases it prompted for username and password and I don't know them. The equipment is almost new but it has been used before and the previous owner didn't gave me these details. From what I've read on forums (even this one) I have to make a Factory Reset , and I have no clue how to do that.

Can someone give me some advice on how to factory reset a UC540? Or if thee are other ways I would appreciate if you could guide me!

Thanks in advance

Emanuel

In short you don't need to make a factory reset.

1. Enter rom-mode and set config register to 0x2142

2. Boot in IOS and load the startup-config to running-config

3. Set enable secret

4. Change config-register back to 0x2102 and reload.
