Anyone run in to this obstacle? We have a potential UC560 customer who currently has an old Mitel PBX system with another voicemail system of some kind. They are wanting to replace the PBX and Voicemail but would like to keep a lot of their Mitel phones as they are in very good condition and most of the users do not use them on a daily basis. They are wanting to get a new system primarily for the administrative users that cannot be without voicemail.
When we plug the Mitel phone in to one of the fxs ports on a demo uc520 , all of the line buttons are lit and we cannot get a dial tone. When we test the same fxs port with a Bell phone (which has its own power supply) it works fine. The fxs port also works with a plain old telephone that does not require any power so I know the fxs port is working correctly.
The Mitel phones do not have an external power supply so they must draw their power from the analog line some how. Anybody else know how to overcome this hurdle?
