Viewing IP cameras on SPA525g

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience viewing non Cisco cameras on a SPA525g.  I have a customer that is purchasing a UC560 and some Axis cameras and would like to view a camera on his desk phone.  I have done this before with a Cisco PVC2300 camera but I have never with a  non Cisco camera.  Any advise would be appreciated.

Hi Shaun,

Axis will use either the H.264, MJPEG as their Codec/Containers for the video streams, this will be to ensure they are ONVIF compliant, however the Cisco SPA phone isn't designed for that

It is highly unlikely it would work as the SPA-525 series phone will only know how to talk to the PVC cameras and will be able to negotiate the transport stream.

You would be better of having the client connect to them using their iPAD/iPhone/ANDROID tablet which would be more reliable and secure anyway.

Cheers,

It does work I have it working here, just go to the phone ip on your browser, then go to Advanced, then go to User.

Add the camera url:

rtsp://CAMERANAME.DOMAIN.LOCAL/axis-media/media.amp?videocodec=jpeg&resolution=320x240&date=1&fps=5

Not the best resolution but it does work and I even made the button to open the door work.

i didn't got it to work, even though i converted the stream also to mjpeg and 5fps :-(

was anybody able to do it? if yes, how?
