Voiceview: Playback Failed

Hey guys,

In testing the voicemail on the UC520 that I'm rebuilding, I came across the following error when accessing voiceview from my handset:

Playback Failed

Report this error to your system administrator.  IOException Unexpected end of file from the server

The notifications that are sent to an email inbox are working great, but it does not appear that we can check voicemail from our telephone handsets.

Has anybody seen this?  I'm on software package 8.0.4 and the install was built in CCA 2.2.5

Thanks,

Seth

Do you have these two lines in your running config?

url services http://10.1.10.1/voiceview/common/login.do
url authentication http://10.1.10.1/voiceview/authentication/authenticate.do

Hi Steve,

Those two lines ARE in my config.  Is there a debug that I can run to find the problem? The problem appears to be system wide.

Thanks,

Seth

I have the same problem and just created a new post...posted after seeing this one.

Did anyone find a resolution to this?

1. CME - Configure the service and authentication URLs under telephony-service.

For release 7.0 and later.

url services http://CUE-IP/voiceview/common/login.do
url authentication http://CME-IP/CCMCIP/authenticate.asp

authentication credential  username password

create cnf-file

2. CUE - Configure the Phone authentication service.

config t

site name local

phone-authentication username username password password

end

!

!

service voiceview

enable

end

I was getting burned on 8.5 until I found this:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/administrator/AA_and_VM/guide/vview.html#wp1019336

8.0 and later adds an additional requirement:

•(Cisco Unified CME 8.0 and later) Enable Web Access using the following command in telephony-service configuration mode:

service phone webAccess 0

You may also append the username/password to the authentication url.
