What extensions can be used for phones

We are deploying a UC560 with 31 phones and are using the default extension pattern below -

Default Leading digits

1xx – Page Groups

2xx – Extensions

3xx – Voice Mail and Auto Attendant

4xx – Night Service codes

5xx – hunt groups

6xx – not used

7xx – Park Slots & MM Conf extensions

8 – Intersite dialing access

9 – Public access

Would there be a problem with assigning several phones with extension numbers that are not in the 2xx range? Some users are in a different business and want to have extensions that start with someting other than 2. For example, could 5 of the phones be extensions 350 to 355 or 450 to 455?

Yes, absolutely. The above is just a reasonable recommendation particularly applicable to North America.

I probably should been more specific on the spreadsheet,

The leading digits listed are built into CCA by default or are  typical deployment configurations. The  digits can be changed at any point but leaving them at default is recommended  for simplicity in configuring CCA

101 - 110 – Page Groups

2xx –User Extensions

399, 398, 397 – Voice Mail, Auto Attendant and Prompt Manager

*299 – Night Service code

501 - 510 – Hunt groups

511 - 520  – Blast Groups

6xx – not used

701 - 710, 771 - 802 – Park Slots & Meet-Me Conference extensions

8+1-5 – Intersite dialing access

9 – Public access

Thanks Everybody!

Thanks for the nice rating and good luck!
