Cisco AnyConnect Apex License Activation

Hi,

We have purchased the new Cisco AnyConnect APEX Plus License (3 Years Subscription based) to replace our existing Cisco AnyConnect Premium License.

Understand that once we activate the new Cisco AnyConnect lincese on our ASA, the existing Cisco AnyConnect Premium license will be deactivate/deleted. Lets say the new license is not working as intended, is there a fall back plan that we can use back the premium license?

Our ASA is in Active-Standby mode, can we break the active standbys and install the new license only on Active unit? If something goes wrong, we still can power back the Standby unit and temporary use it? What is the best practice in this scenario?

Cisco AnyConnect Client Version: 3.1.0.02026.

ASA Version: 8.4(7)30

ADSM Version: 7.3(1)101

Any comment really help in our planning. Thank you.

Basically, the APEX license generates an activation key that enables the ASA for AnyConnect Premium. After activating the key you should see the ASA to be licensed for the maximum Premium peers.

Based on that, there is practically nothing that can go wrong, also because the license shows you what gets activated.

But you can break your failover, and load the license to only one of the ASAs to test. that will work but will be more work.
