L2L VPN on 4G Networks ASA 5505's

Hello all,

I have been working on setting up a site to site VPN connection across a 4G network and ran into quite a few issues(specifically it doesn't stay established for very long). I've tested this same configuration in a lab environment with no issues, so I believe if it was across a more typical WAN connection there wouldn't be an issue. Is anyone aware of special configuration that needs to be done across 4G networks? I currenlty have my MTU set at 1350 per the vendor recommendation, but that is really the only "special" configuration changes I've made.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Alan,

This is not specific to 4G but rather my experience with 3G and a few others, what halped for frequent disconnects is relaxing DPD timers. Do not disable it, just tweak the settings.

As a side note, if the medium is not great the tunnel performance/operation is also going to be not-great-at-best.
