MS Exchange 2016 does not work with Outlook Over Clientless VPN

We use Cisco AnyConnect and Clientless VPN to provide our employees with remote access. Some users are at remote sites where they need to use clientless VPN access so they do not lose access to local network services like printers. Using Microsoft Exchange 2010 and MS Outlook, users had no problems over the clientless VPN connecting to Outlook to get their email. We have started upgrading to MS Exchange 2016 and our test users can no longer connect using outlook over the clientless VPN to the exchange server (the error message is: cannot locate the MS Exchange server).  Using AnyConnect Outlook continues to work fine as it always has, but not over the clientless VPN. The only change to the process is updating to Microsoft Exchange 2016 from 2010. The VPN and all other Microsoft AD/outlook/exchange settings remain the same.

Our VPN hardware is 5545-X running 9.6(2)1. Anyone have any ideas or help?

thanks

Hello,

can you check if the client tries to contact the Exchange server by name or by IP address ?

by name, although I have the domain name and the IP addresses of the DNS servers, and of course the exchange servers, in the list of allowed resources for the smart tunnel.  Everything was working fine in exchange 2010, the only difference is the server folks implemented Exchange 2016.

When connect to my Enterprise network via Any connections in Win10, the outlook does not connect to the exchange server 2016, but it worked well before at exchange server 2010. All other traffic is fine over VPN as well. exchange 2016 IP is whitelisted over firewall.
