*Mar  1 00:01:07.419: %VPN_HW-1-INITFAIL: Slot 1: microcode download failure

on 12.4

*Mar  1 00:01:09.995: %VPN_HW-1-INITFAIL: Slot 1: No ACK for command.., 0x80000000(50000 ms)

*Mar  1 00:01:09.995: %VPN_HW-1-INITFAIL: Slot 1: Making mini_omq failed: 00180010After mbox fail:

Check DRAM, I met this problem if memory modules have different capacity.

Hello,

Bad news: Hardware is end of support since 2012. See the URL below.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps282/prod_end-of-life_notice0900aecd80444877.html

You should not try any new software on such kind of ancient device.... Most likely the support has been removed on latest code.

Cheers,

Forgot about this posting, it's been a year.  I can confirm mismatching memory caused the issue for me as well, I should have posted a reply back then, sorry.

As far as out of support, yes, I think we all know this.  My car is from 2005, it's also out of support, I probably should replace that as well ;-/.
