Putty sessions is being timed out

I am having a problem in accessing a cisco switch. Whenever I telnet to the switch and gives show command after few output it gets timed-out. Some times If i do keep the putty session idle for a few seconds it gets timed-out too. Sometimes I can give more than 2f or 3 show commands and sometimes after only one show commands and few output (not full output) session becomes timed-out again. Can you help me out to solve the problem. I did not find any configuration error yet. For your convenience device uptime and exec time-out configuration is given below:

uptime is 5 years, 49 weeks, 6 days, 14 hours, 19 minutes
System returned to ROM by power-on

line con 0
exec-timeout 9 0
line vty 0 4
exec-timeout 9 0

Hi,

What does the output of show user say ? It would show your session timeout values.

Also you can try increasing the timeout of the device using the following command:

line vty 0 4
exec-timeout 30

Do you face the same issue on SSH sessions as well ?

Aditya

Thanks for your response. This is an ACS controlled device and no "transport input" is configured and only can telnet to it. Last time I just give this show command and after getting the output the session got timed-out.

Hi,

Have you checked whether there is a timeout configured in the ACS?

Thanks

John
