recommended vpn client

Hello,

I have an ASA5510 that I am working with. I have it configured for remote access vpn with both the IPSEC client and the anyconnect client. I need to put a vpn client on a computer running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

What is the recommended client? Should I go with the ipsec client or the anyconnect client? Are there seperate executables for 64bit and 32bit? I just wanted to work very reliably.

I have had alot of problems with the ipsec client on vista 64bit. But, that was with older versions. I wasn't sure which would be the path of least resistance here.

Thanks,

Ben

Both IPSec and AnyConnect client is supported on 64-bit machine. Executables for AnyConnect client is the same, and IPSec would be different between 32-bit and 64-bit..

For IPSec VPN, here is the latest version that support 64-bit machine: vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0440-k9.exe

.

For AnyConnect, the preference would be version 3.0 and above.

Here is the release notes for VPN Client 5.0.7.440 (64-bit) for your reference:

Here is the release notes on AnyConnect that states the support on 64-bit machine:

Hope this helps.
