Site to Site vpn questions.

We have an existing B2-to-B2 tunnel with a partner that is in place working fine for communications between the two networks. Now there is a need to place a workstation and printer from my network on site at this partners office and maintain the ip addressing from my network. Any ideas how/if this can be done via the existing VPN tunnel?

Hi there,

You should probably take a look at L2TPv3 which will allow you to encapsulate Layer2 communication over Layer3 transport. In particular look at pseudo-wires.

This will require you to have admin access to the remote end router to complete the configuration. Depending on the remote end topology you may want to place the LAN facing interface into a separate VRF to provide Layer3 routing separation.

cheers,

Seb.
