VPN between a RV042G and a 1721 : ping OK but others NOK

Hello,

I try to install a Gateway to Gateway VPN between a RV042G router (LAN1) and a 1721 router (LAN2).

The VPN is connected.

I can ping the devices from a LAN to the other in the two way.

But otherwise I can't access to the devices of LAN2 from LAN1 like with telnet, http, mstsc, ....

And it is ok to access to the deveices of LAN1 from LAN2....

Normally I access to all the resources of LAN2 with the Cisco VPN Client but i try to change it with this router.

The firewalls are off on all the computers I look.

Thanks for your help.

Good morning

Hi bidon, thanks for using our forum, my name is Johnnatan and I am part of the Small business Support community. Could be many reasons regarding why your vpn is not working,

1. Firewall configuration (sometimes it has to be on)

I´ll share a document about this problem:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-29399

2. Router misconfiguration.

In this case I could help you with the RV042 configuration, you can see these documents:

If you want to have more feedback on your case, you can post your question in “VPN section”more users will see it there. You can move your post using  the actions panel on the right.

3. VPN behavior.

As you know you can allow just LAN per vpn, this because you can´t permit multicast traffic through the tunnel and the routing protocols are not useful in these cases, so in this cases I recommend you to configure vpn considering this behavior.I hope you find this answer useful,

Hello,

Thank you for your help.

I checked these different informations but it doesn't work.

Really strange thing is that the ping is ok and not the other protocols.

I don't see restrictions about the ports on the differents routers.

And it work with the software VPN Client.

May be it's not possible to have a correct VPN between a RV042G and a 1721 ?
