VPN on Private IP address

Hi,

     Can any one let me know whether I can establish a VPN between a public  and a private IP address. I am planning to do a static NAT of private IP address in the load balancer/router. Will there be any challenges with this kind of setup ? Pls let me know whether anybody deployed the similar setup.

A simple diagram attached here with for reference.

This configuration example may prove useful, establishing a VPN tunnel between a public and private IP address via two routers.

Thank you Sean. The link you provided gives the example with PAT, so it should work with NAT configuration as well. Hope there wont be any practicle problems.
