I have a problem with my NM-16AM that does not answer any calls placed on it. It just keeps ringing and never answers a modem call. The lines are all working and the modem is enabled. Pls assist!!!
In analog modem there are two modes one is call out mode and answer mode.If you can configure the modem for answer or autoanswer mode it will answer to your calls.
I'm not familiar with that type of modem. I work with externl modems. Sometimes we need to set the S0 register to a value higher than 0(zero). 0 is never answer 1 answer on 1 ring 2 on 2 rings etc.
Here is how I do this
This shows an example of when the S0 register is set to 0 (zero).
When set to zero the modem will never answer.
reverse telnet to modem
(ati4 show the running config some modems use at&v0)
