Hi.

Is it possible to install TrendMicro officescan client in a laptop using the WebVPN service at home? Using Port forwarding maybe? One person claimed that couldn't do it from home. It is given a timeout error.

Thanks in advance

YES, you should be able to install a client via your vpn from your corporate network.

(provided there are no blocks preventing it)

you may have issues of whether your vpn connection is allowed to pass the ports/protocols required to run your AV.

(this is usually the case if the vpn tunnel and client are configured correctly & working)

if your vpn is 'wide open' to allow you to send/receive any ports/protocols then you should verify any latency in your transmissions across the vpn.

you can check with the vendor for acceptable delay between client & server if you need to.

gpulos, unfortunately the WebVPN service works differently from the common Cisco VPN Client. You aren't given an IP address from your corporate network (as it happens with Cisco VPN Client). You stick with the IP the ISP gives you and the connections are made by the CVPN through a proxy server within our organization. The problem is that it works fine for viewing internal web pages (http & https) that are not meant to be read from the outside networks. But with the Trendmicro officescan client this is not possible. I don't know if it is a activeX problem or a port forwarding problem.... suggestions??!

Thanks
