Hi,

Does anyone know if I can configure my Cisco 2951 router (has a valid security license)  as an AnyConnect server to accept Cisco Client AnyConnect VPN connections from a users PC - just like the Cisco ASA firewall?

Thank you

Frank

Hi,

If you have this module " VPN Internal Service Module (VPN ISM)" then yes it does support anyconnect. Please have a look below:

You don't need an additional VPN-Module for AnyConnect. You can terminate AnyConnect VPNs on your router when you have:

  • the security-license
  • a License for AnyConnect/SSL-VPNs.
That could be the older per box-license "SSL_VPN" or the new AnyConnect 4.0 License.

Hi Karsten,

You got me thinking; so I started doing a little research; it looks like a Cisco ISR G1 (ex 2800 series router, and other G1's) will also allow the configuration of AnyConnect and terminate Win PCs running the AnyConnect SSL VPN client to allow FULL LAN access.

SSL VPN or WebVPN technology is supported on most router platforms such as the

Integrated Services Router (ISR) Generation 1, Generation 2

Thanks

Frank
