Since Apple's IOS 7 was released, 3rd party vendors (such as our mobile device management/email application) no longer are able to access the device's UDID. We have been utilizing the UDIDs in a DAP access list, to allow access. In an effort to streamline our processes, we have found that we don't have a way to easily get the UDID. (Only options right now are through iTunes, which is not approved software for our network, the iPhone Configuration Utility (iPCU), or turning on the debug, have them 'hit' the AnyConnect, and then copy the actual UDID from the log, into the access list.)
Is there another device ID that we can used, that isn't such a PITA for us to get a hold of? we are geographically spread out, and the users already have the ipads, so we can't do it prior to issuing them.
Thanks!

I don't know of any other ways to get the UDID.
You could push out device or user certificates and use certificate-based authentication and/or DAP checks.

That's what I was afraid of, thanks.
