ASA 5505 or PIX 515 EZVPN directly connected to a printer

Hi all,

I've been tasked with putting printers at couple of remote locations not owned by our hospital.   The locations have DSL and no IT staff.  I was thinking about putting an ASA5505 (or 515 since I have a few lying around) on the printer setup as EZVPN clients.   Since the printer will be the only client on the remote side and really doesn't generate any interesting traffic, will I be able to keep the tunnel established?   Will the tunnel come backup if the remote site DSL goes down?  I'm still very much in the planning (guessing?) phase and this is the best thing I've come up with so far.

Thanks,

Bill

Hi Bill,

As per the following documentation the tunnel should remain up when you are using NEM:

Though if you have the chance to test it in the lab first I would suggest doing so, I did some research and couldn't find anyone else with this same query on a PIX.
