ASDM Issue

Level 1

I am trying to configure ASDM on my ASA 5505.  I seem to be running into a road block.  I get things configured correctly, IP Addressing, VLANs etc.

I can ping my ASA device from the laptop command prompt with no problem.

When I open the browswer and type in https://192.168.10.1  (The IP Address set to E0/1.)  I get the Certificate Warning and click continue.  I then get a message that the page cannot be found.

I close the browser and reopen it, (cookies, cache and history cleared) and re-type the above IP Address and immediately get the "page not found" message.  I can't understand what is going on here as I have accomplished this exact same lab at the college with no problem at all.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Steve

FYI...

Here are the results of the show version.  I believe I am running a current version.

The ASDM version is not compatible with the ASA version that you have.

Pls kindly upgrade the ASDM to version 6.3.5 or later.

Here is the release notes for your reference:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa82/release/notes/asarn82.html#wp309157

Thanks!  This has been most helpful.  I do have another question though.  I am a registered user and have gone to the Cisco software download site but cannot seem to find any link to the ASDM software upgrades.  I know they have to be there but I have looked for an hour and have even searched for "ASDM 6.3" with negative results.

Can you point me a little closer to my target?

Thanks

Sure..

From the main download page, go to:

Security --> Firewalls --> Adaptive Security Appliances (ASA) --> Cisco ASA 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliances -->

Cisco ASA 5505 Adaptive security Appliance --> Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Device Manager --> You should be able to find 6.3.5
