Cisco VPN Client was successfully installed on a MacBook Pro, OS-X 10.6.7. No issues importing the .pcf file.
However, when executing the Client an error -51 is returned stating "Error 51: Unable to communicate with the VPN subsystem".
What is causing this and how may it be remedied? Disk permissions have been repaired. I located an article here that is a workaround but not a fix. E.g., the command of "sudo /System/Library/StartupItems/CiscoVPN/CiscoVPN restart"
Many thanks!

this error is also occuring on Windows 7 OS. Users with McAfee Hips installed will have to STOP the Hips service before the VPN client will start properly.
