ipsec and voice vlans

CallManager---3745RTR--(IPSEC)---PIX506E---IP phone

In the above scenario, CM is behind 3745 and IP phone is behind PIX506E. So CM and IP phone belong to two different subnets.

Question:

1) CM and IP phones are able to be located in two different subnets and will still work. Is this

THE CASE?

2) Also is there any IPSEC timeout issue here which will affect the ip phone to CM connection? Thanks

1) This will work fine as long as the IP Phone gets the TFTP configuration from the CM - Either by using the dhcp relay on the Pix, a local DHCP server or Static configuration

2) No the phone is constantly sending traffic to the CM so the tunnel will stay up.
