I'm building a site to site tunnel and every time I apply a crypto map to an interface, I lose connectivity. I can't even ping the IP address assigned to the interface, even though it shows up up. I've tried different interfaces, different routers, different IOS versions, different crypto maps and even a different switch that terminates the link to the router interfaces, and every time I get the same result. I'm unable to ping my interface, much less my gateway.

This turned out to be that I used a named ip access list with object groups. It wasn't until I used an extended access list with the networks instead of object groups that it worked.
