Manage remote ASA via VPN-Tunnel

Hi,

I have some question about to manage a ASA over a VPN-Tunnel on a remote site.

The site-2-site Tunnel works but if I start the ASDM to manage the remote ASA I got the following:

Unable to launch device manager from ...

If I first connect to the local ASA an then selcet at the device list the remote ASA I gat the following:

Your ASA image has a version number unkown which is not supported by ASDM 6.4(9).

Continue anyway?

I klick on OK

Then it starts loading but at 11% it stops loading.

Could it be the ASDM Image on the remote ASA?

Local ASA:

ASA-844

ASDM-649

Remote ASA:

ASA-825

ASDM-621

I hope someone can give me some help.

Hello Hans,

Please make sure you have the following:

REMOTE NETWORK: 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0

On the LOCAL ASA:

management-access inside

http 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0 inside

On the ASA 8.4, make sure you have the route-lookup command at the end of the NAT rule statement for the VPN traffic.

why do I have to set the http for the remote Network? I want to understand what I

do and don`t want only set the commands.

It's easy, because that's the way you configure ASDM access to the ASA.

On the other, which ASDM version are you running on the LOCAL machine?

Hi,

I have configure the command on the local ASA, but it still loaded until 11%

and than nothing happends.

On the local ASA I have ASDM 649 as I wrote in my first posting. On the

Remote ASA is the ASDM 621 image. Do I have to copy on the remote

ASA the same ASDM Image?

I really need help, because I want to configure remote ASA from the local Site,

without to be on the Site where the remote ASA stands.
