Hi,
I would like to ask about ospf broadcast and point-to-point network type.
i have VPN connection using HUB spoke connection between our DC and branches sites.
i want to run ospf for routing .
If our DC have 1 HUB router, i would like to know should i use point-top-point or broadcast type ?
If our DC have 2 HUB router, i would like to know should i use point-top-point or broadcast type ?
Can i use ospf authentication with VPN ?
Let me know the best practice ?

You wouldn't use ospf point-to-point in a multipoint VPN, so use broadcast instead.
No reason why you cannot authenticate ospf neighbours

Hi @Rob Ingram
Thanks for your explain.
i also want to know if i use point to point VPN,should i use point-to-point ospf ?
I mean our hub router have multiple tunnel to branch sites. Our spoke sites no need to communicate each other. there is only traffic hub spoke only.
As per your comment ,ospf authentication can do with VPN also, correct ?

Hi @MrBeginner
You mean a Static VTI between 2 routers, then yes I imagine it would work, just not with hub and multi spokes,
Yes, I see no reason why you cannot authenticate ospf over the VPN.
