I am unable to get RDP to work on this router and wanted to see if anyone has a suggestion on the problem. Set-up was completed as follows:
(the firewall rule was created automatically when the port was forwarded)
The router sits behind a modem that operates in bridge mode and holds the external IP which is dynamic. The router is set to route in NAT mode and is linked via a 16 port switch to the network. There are 5 PC's, 2 printers, and 1 NAS unit on the network (all LAN), all with internal IP's and internet access. RDP is set-up on the host and worked correctly with the previous router (Netgear WNDR3700) within the previous 24 hours. The router is running the most recent firmware 1.0.1.3. The RDP rule was created in Firewall/Access Control/Custom Services. The port forwarding rule for RDP is the only port forwarding rule.
Assuming that there is a setting on the router that I am overlooking. Thanks for any suggestions or help.
