Hello All !
Recently I had a problem with simple vpn...
I'd like to setup a vpn between cisco 831 router on one end and w2k Pc with builtin vpn client on the other.
What I mean is to configure Cisco 831 router as vpn server that will accept vpn connections from remote pc's.
These Pc's will use a standard windows vpn client that uses pptp or l2tp.
I have already tried to do it using vpdn but it's not working ...
Any idea or examples of configurations greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

Well....
I think you missed one thing.
The default VPN policy of W2K is a IPSec. So if you want to connect vpn with l2tp or pptp, you must configure W2K VPN policy from IPSec to L2TP. Even though you already configured L2TP, you must change the vpn policy in registry.
Here's sample value of registry. If you want to connect L2TP vpn in W2K, following below.
- Registry Folder: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Rasman\Parameters
- Create Value:
Value Name: ProhibitIpSec
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value:1
rebooting and retry...

Thanks for Your response ...
I don't think I could make modification of registry on every Pc which will I'd like to connect via this vpn.
All I want is to do it as simple as possible for end-users or other who will use this vpn.
I that case can You tell me how to configure easily windows vpn client (without modification of registry) and a cisco router ?
Thanks
