Hi,

I'm runing an ASA with 8.2(5) code with a remote access VPN config. the VPN users are authenticated against AD using LDAP. This all works fine except when users some special characters in their password. The strange thing is that the $ character doesn't cause an issue but the £ character does cause an issue. With the £ character the user get's a message saying incorrect password...

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Guy

I notice there is a bug with very similar symptoms - "<>" character not accepted in passwords. Please reference here.

They do say it is fixed as of 8.2(4) but your particular issue may be an undiscovered bug. I'd recommend opening a TAC case.
