hi,

do "debug bri", "debug isdn q921" debug isdn q931" "term mon".

then isdn test call int x/y 1234

this will tell you what's going on.

Your suggestion of debugs is a good combination of debugs to investigate most ISDN problems. But if:

Sh isdn status allway fist layer deactivate and

second layer not activated

then I am afraid that the results of the testing is going to be very predictable. What can 921 or 931 show if layer 1 and 2 are not active?

My suggestion is to look for a layer 1 issue:

- is the cable plugged into the correct port on the router?

- is that same cable plugged into the provider ISDN terminated connection?

- is that any possibility of a patch connection somewhere between the router and the NT1 that is not correctly connected?

- is the ISDN card the correct one to connect to an NT1?

Hi Rick, with all debugs enable it's easy to see the proper sequence of events, and one doesn't have to ask repeatedly :)
