Unable to install Anyconnect VPN client on mac

Hi, 

I have some problems with my Anyconnect. Today I tried to access, however it quits with the message "The VPN service is not available. Exiting". Then I uninstalled it with the command

sudo pkgutil --forget com.cisco.pkg.anyconnect.vpn

but it returns the message

No receipt for 'com.cisco.pkg.anyconnect.vpn' found at '/'.

, and the installation just won't succeed, and I noticed that the VPN section is always grey and cannot be ticked.  What can I do about it? My laptop is macOS Catalina ver. 10.15.7 and package is anyconnect-macos-4.8.03036-predeploy-k9.dmg. Thank you.

Try to reinstall with root permissions then uninstall it.

Thanks for your suggestion, I tried to reinstall it with the root user account but the same problems remain.
