Using IE through a VPN

I have a remote user who connects to our network through a cable broadband connection (Roadrunner) to our PIX 506e Firewall/VPN box. She is running Win98 and IE 6 sp1. When connected to our network through the VPN, she cannot use her web browser to surf the Internet. Is there a way of having this happen either through her own ISP or through our network?

Hi

At a guess you haven't got split tunneling enabled - which means that at the moment all traffic will be routed across the VPN tunnel.

To define split tunneling, you need to do something along the lines of the following:

vpngroup vpnclient address-pool vpnpool

vpngroup vpnclient split-tunnel 101

vpngroup vpnclient idle-time 1800

vpngroup vpnclient password ********

access-list 101 permit ip any

where and identify the network that you want traffic to be tunnelled. You can specify multiple networks if required.

Hope this helps. Regards, Barry
