vpn 3.6 - unable to ping internal ip addresses after connected

I am currently using Cisco VPN Client 3.6

I have ADSL at home that I can connect to Internet with no problems. The TCP/IP properties of my local connection(Windows XP):

IP address: xxx - Static IP address given by ADSL Provider

Subnet mask: xxx - This was given by DSL Provider

Default gateway: xxx - This was given by DSL Provider

Primary DNS server: xxx - This was given by DSL Provider

Alternate DNS server: 130.35.2xx.xx - this is DNS server that is used here at work.

From home I use VNC 3.6 to connect.

VPN Status shows as connected.

Client IP address is assigned.

However:

Transparent Tunneling: Inactive (What does that mean?)

Tunnel Port: 0

I am trying to ping IP addresses servers at the office, and they are not found.

I cannot ping DNS server and I cannot ping IP Address assigned to me - request timeout.

I cannot browse Internet - with or without proxy setttings.

It looks as if I am connected to the company network, but I cannot access any ip addresses on the network.

This is if IPsec over UDP is used.

I tried to use IPSec over TCP: vpn dialer hangs...

Can there be a problem with Static IP address that came with my ADSL? What is missing? Please help!

Yes, this looks like an issue with Static IP addressing with ADSL
