VPN Client 3.5.2 and AOL broadband

I have a client that is using AOL broadband on a road runner connection. The client needs to launch the VPN dialer and then the user logs on to a NT server in order to reach mapped drives on the server. This scenario works fine until you introduce AOL into the mix. Apparently AOL does not allow traffic to pass to the internet until you are logged onto their service. Does anyone know a workaround for this.

It sounds like using the Application Launcher on the VPN software client. Look under the Options Menu and select Application Launcher. Browse out to the AOL.exe file and click ok. This will invoke AOL when you try to launch the VPN client. It will take you through the AOL logon process and then you can continue with the VPN logon. IF you want to take it one step farther you can also enable the Start Before Logon feature under Options as well. This will do everything above plus if the user is not logged onto their workstation when they try to log on it will start the Application Launcher, connect the PC to the Internet, establish the VPN connection and then allow the user to logon so that they are actually logging onto the network and not with cached credentials on the PC.

Hope this is what you were looking for and it helps.
