Good Morning.

First of all sorry because my english is not very good.

I have a question with VPN client in my Windows 7. I cant connect it. I attach the log which calls ciscoVPNlog.txt.

The error appears is:

"162    09:28:39.602  10/18/10  Sev=Warning/2    CVPND/0xA340000E

Failed to get adapter index.

163    09:28:39.602  10/18/10  Sev=Warning/2    CM/0xA3100024

Unable to add route. Network: ac0a140f, Netmask: ffffffff, Interface: ac1fe858, Gateway: ac1fe841.

164    09:28:54.785  10/18/10  Sev=Warning/2    CVPND/0xA340000E

Failed to get adapter index.

165    09:28:54.785  10/18/10  Sev=Warning/2    CM/0xA3100024

Unable to add route. Network: 0, Netmask: 0, Interface: ac1fe858, Gateway: ac1fe841."

I change the log level to 15 i some parameters.

I try to:

- reinstall the client with the same version and another versions.

- Install DNE solution i read in other posts.

- Add key to regedit i read in other posts.

- I cant enable Virtual Adapter and try to repair connection.

Please, can somebody help me?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Please, can somebody help me?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards.

This might be caused by some 3rd party software. Try uninstalling any anti-virus, internet security, firewall, packet sniffer or any other sw that has something to do with network access.

First of all thanks for the answer.

Second, what kind of windows components, services, apps could affect for the Cisco VPN Software?

I turn off windows firewall, internet security, antivirus and try to install again receiving the same message:

"Error 442: Failed to enable Virtual Adapter"

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards.

You may want to also check and be sure you have Windows UAC turned off...I've seen this cause similar issues.

thanks for the answer.

I turned off UAC too with this .bat:

%windir%\System32\cmd.exe /k %windir%\System32\reg.exe ADD  HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v  EnableLUA /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
pause

But the connection message is the same, Error 442.

I was referring to 3rd party sw like Symantec, McAfee etc. Windows components should not cause any issues like this. It is not enough just to disable them, you should try to uninstall them completely. BTW, do you see this on all your Win7 machines or only one? Do you see the issue when you install Cisco VPN client on freshly installed Win7 (like in a virtual machine) from original Microsoft image?

Hi Hector,

Could you please try the following and see if it helps

Step 1  Open "Network and Sharing Center".

Step 2 Select "Manage Network Connections".

Step 3 Enable the Virtual Adapter ("VA"—Cisco VPN Adapter).

Step 4 Right-click on Cisco VPN Adapter and select "Diagnose" from the context menu.

Step 5 Select "Reset the network adapter Local Area Connection X".

Thanks,
Namit

Hi

first of all thanks for the answer and your help.

Ivan. I try to unistall McAffe, but the answer is the same... Whats is BTW? and the third question, PCs are from original Microsoft image.

Namit. I´m try to do you said too, but the problem persist. I cant enable Cisco VPN Adapter. When i try to enable it i get a message: "Connection Error" in Windows 7.

Thanks again.
Kind regards.

Reinstall Windows 7 may take less time to troubleshoot.

The problem is often caused by third part software.
