I know this is a common issue,
I can ping the devices and map them by IP address, but not by host address.
I know this is due to IPSEC not ecapsulating NETBIOS broadcast traffic. I do not want to use old technology and install a WINS Server on the network. Is there another solution to this?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

The problem that I had was the same.
Remote Users could not access resources by host names but could by IP Address only.
I resolved this by adding DNS records for the hosts that needed to be resolved on my internal DNS Server.

The DNS entries for all my host names I am trying to access remotely are already on the DNS server.

If the device names and addresses that you want to access are already available in the DNS server, then it sounds like the VPN clients are not able to correctly access the DSN server. Is the DSN definition in the client correctly configured? From the client can you ping to the DSN server?

Yes I was able to to ping the DNS server. I just resolved my issue by configuring a WINS server.
Thanks all
