VPN Drops

I am using a Pix 6.3 to connecting VPN clients using ver4.04 but I am getting dropped from the connection after around the 8min. But if I have a ping running constantly the connection does not drop

client is XP sp2 with FW on and I have tried with FW off but did not make a differance. All the session times are set to 24hr for the exersise.

Can you please check the vpn group's idle-timer paramter ? You can increase that if you need more time for the tunnel to be connected. Its always adviced to have a low value of the idle-timer.

vpngroup xyz idle-time 1800 (30 mins)

I have already set this to 86400 the max
