I would also add here is that we suggest not to use IPsec's built in compression module.
Compression in IPsec was designed for different times (low bandwidth, high latency links).
Enabling compression on hosts can result in added delay (because of recirculation) and higher CPU, without almost no added benefit.
If you're intested in make transfer rates faster over VPN I would investigate other options - WAAS mobile for example.
