Windows7 to IOS via IKEv2 certificate Cert_req payload

Hi,

this article explains it very well.

https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/98366/flexvpn-ikev2-windows-7-builtin-client-ios-headend-part-i-certificate-authentication

But has somebody an explanation for this:

"On Windows 7 Client Certificate Store, make sure that Machine-Trusted Root Certificate Authorities Store has as less number of certificates as possible. If it has more than say close to 50, IOS might fail to read the entire Cert_Req payload (which contains the DN of all the known CA's) from the Windows 7 box. Thereby failing the negotiation. You will see connection timing-out on the client."

May question is it a limitation or a bug that capacity is limited to this number?

In the lab it fixed the issue but in real network its difficult to reduce the number of certificates at client machines and we do not not the exact number where the problem starts.

Thanks

André

Andre,

That's tracked on our side under:

https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuj66938/?reffering_site=dumpcr

The code necessary already exists, but will most likely make it only to 15.5T
