Joe Marcus Clarke is a Distinguished Support Engineer at Cisco’s Technical Assistance Center supporting network management products. He has contributed to network management by finding and fixing bugs, as well as implementing maintenance and troubleshooting components in the Cisco Prime network management suite. He also helps to support and enhance the embedded automation and programmability technologies in Cisco IOS Software, such as the Embedded Event Manager and Tcl. He is a leading contributor on the Cisco Support Community and a founding member of its Hall of Fame. Clarke has authored numerous technical documents on Cisco network management products and technologies as well as a chapter co-author in the upcoming Springer publication, “Network-Embedded Management and Applications: Understanding Programmable Networking Infrastructure.” He works as the XML lead on the Common Vulnerability and Reporting Framework project, a cross-vendor effort to standardize sharing of security advisory data among organizations. He is co-author of four Cisco patents and holds several certifications including the CCIE in Routing and Switching (#5384), Sun System Administrator, Sun Network Administrator, Sun Security Administrator, Sun Java certified, and VMware Certified Professional.
