Where do I find the breakout room settings? (I am on a paid account)
I must have missed a setting somewhere that turns breakout room functionality on in the call window?
(In Zoom only once you select a setting does it appear in the call window as an icon)

Customers using Webex 40.9 will get a lot of new capabilities within Webex Meetings, as we are bringing Training capabilities in Webex Meetings (like video breakout rooms and co-host functionality):

Any word on the breakout room question yet? I am not sure where to look for the training sessions that were anticipated.

Hi Robert,
When you get a Webex account you are given a custom site name. It will look something like sitename.webex.com. When you login to the site you should have visibility into current product options to schedule a session. See attached my view from my site. You will see Webex Training on the bottom left.
If you are not sure of your site name then I can help identify it if you message me privately.

hello,
is there any news about this feature being applied to normal cisco Webex meetings?
06-11-2020 09:05 AM
Yes! Breakout Rooms with video is coming to Webex Meetings! Please continue to look for updates. And remember to check out the Cisco Partner Locator for a Cisco Partner near you. They can offer competitive pricing and they have lots of knowledge to share!

Dear Cisco,
....So has this Breakout Room feature been added to Meetings yet? The last update on this comment thread was in June, promising that it was coming. It's now late August, and all our academic semesters are starting or have started.
Creating Spaces on Webex Teams is not at all the same thing. Breakout Rooms is much more elegant way to have my students discuss in small groups during class.
It's literally the only feature I need for my class, and my university has only a limited number of Zoom licenses, so...if you can't come through on Breakout Rooms, I will probably buy my own Zoom premium account and write off Webex unless it's for staff meetings.

Check out Explore Training Capabilities in Webex Meetings and What's New for the Latest Channel of Webex Meetings.
The upgrade schedule can be found at Service Upgrades and Scheduled Maintenances and see How Do I Tell What Cluster My Site Is On? to help determine which cluster your site is on.

Hello, Richard.
im about to opening an online class and need use breakout rooms in my sessions as well. I’m using Webex meeting with free account, can’t find any banner to open the breakout rooms.
I read all you comment and checked the training centre as we but can’t find how to use. Seems the break out room is not offered to free account? Other people have this function on their Webex meeting. I do not understand why there’s no breakout room in the session...
would you please give me an advise?
Thank you,
Einjoo.

HI
I am a mediator and have a medation next week where one of the parties insists that we use Webex to do the mediation. I purchased the level above the free Webex to conduct the mediation and in going through the program I see that I don't have breakout rooms, which you need in a mediation. What level do I have to upgrade to so that I can use the breakout function? It would seem to be the training one, can I do that one line where the home page of my subscription has an "upgrade" button.
Thanks for your help
Paul

Hi Paul,
Currently, breakout rooms are only built-in with Webex Training. You will have to contact sales to purchase Webex Training.
There are two ways to get Webex Training:
a. Contact a local Cisco partner in your region: http://cisco.com/go/partnerlocator
b. Contact Cisco sales to discuss your needs: https://www.webex.com/contact-sales.html

Hi Einjoo,
I'm afraid you won't be able to use breakout rooms with Webex. I am on a paid account and unless my company buys a license for Webex Training, we don't have this feature. But here's the thing: We can't even find the information on how to do that anywhere. We'd have to contact the sales department. I did find the price by googling articles comparing different platforms and well, I understood why it is so difficult to get this information. The price difference between Webex and the competitor is huge!
My advice to you is: Go to that other platform that everyone is using and starts with "Z". Even the free version has breakout rooms (time-limited to 45 minutes per session) and the paid version doesn't cost you an eye.
I'm not happy with Webex at all and the only reason I still use it is because my company has bought the license and still refuses to change.
I hope that helps.
Regina
